PESHAWAR:
The Peshawar police on Thursday foiled a potential blast by defusing a bomb planted near an oil tanker near the Bhana Mari Police station. According to the police, the driver of the oil tanker, which supplies fuel to Nato forces in Afghanistan, had parked his vehicle for repair on the Ring Road, when he spotted the bomb placed near the tanker. On receiving information, Inspector Bomb Disposal Squad Hukam Khan reached the spot and defused the locally manufactured bomb. Khan said that the bomb contained a nine volt battery, remote control receiver and one electric detonator fuse.
