QUETTA: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Secretary General Liaquat Baloch has said hostile agencies are waging a war against Pakistan and the government must unveil foreign elements involved in killing innocent people of Balochistan.
“Not a single corner of Pakistan is immune to terrorism and people of every ethnic group, sect as well as security personnel are affected by it. Our enemies are using lots of money to destabilise the country,” Baloch told a news conference in Quetta on Tuesday.
“We must follow the precedent of New Zealand where the prime minister and the entire nation united against acts of hate and terrorism. Without unity, the menace of terror can’t be eradicated,” he added.
The JI’s Balochistan Ameer Abdul Haq Hashmi, Abdul Kabhir Shakir, Zahid Akhtar Baloch, Hidayatur Rehman Baloch and other JI leaders were present at the press talk held in the JI’s provincial office.

Balochistan violence: Human rights ministry to form task force

Talking about rising inflation in the country, Baloch said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government received billions of dollars from Saudis and Emirates but still the economy is on the verge of collapse.
“The entire nation is disappointed by the PTI government due to their failed policies and incompetence, rising inflation, unemployment and lawlessness.”
He claimed that federal government is also reluctant to pursue multi-billion dollar China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects. Instead of removing sense of deprivation in Balochistan, the PTI government has forced people of Gwadar to feel insecure about their future.
To a query regarding political issues in Balochistan, he said unfortunately whoever rules Balochistan complains about behaviour of the federal governments, “Those who allowed BAP [Balochistan Awami Party] to form a government in the province, now seem to be irked by its performance.”
