RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Commissioner Jaudat Ayaz has rolled-back the process for hiring a consultancy firm for the Ring Road Project.

In his capacity as Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) director general, he cancelled the process for awarding the contract for consultancy which was 70 per cent complete and ordered inviting Expression of Interest (EOI) .

Ayaz, who is also the director of Ring Road Project, had pointed out irregularities in the consultancy contract awarding process. The RDA will now issue EOI till April 28. Furthermore, the sealed-bids for technical and financial consultancy received from six companies have been returned without opening the envelopes.

In the first phase of the project, the interviews for the deputy director, assistant deputy director and sub-engineer for the Project Management Unit will be conducted by interview committee headed by commissioner on April 18.

RDA has received 63 applications for deputy director who will get Rs400,000 pay, 70 applicants will be interviewed for assistant deputy director with  pay cheque of Rs200,000. Furthermore, 55 applicants will be interviewed for the post of sub-engineer who will have a salary of Rs50,000.
