ISLAMABAD:
The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended April 11, 2019 registered a rise of 0.3% for the combined income group, going up from 249.41 points in the prior week to 250.17 in the week under review. However, the SPI for the combined income group surged 12.02% compared to the corresponding week of previous year. The SPI for the lowest income group also increased 0.35% compared to the previous week. The index for the group stood at 229.38 points against 228.59 in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS). During the week, average prices of 23 items rose in a selected basket of goods, prices of eight items fell and rates of remaining 22 goods recorded no change.
