The first poster of the film, Chaudhry - The Martyr based on martyred SSP Chaudhry Aslam, who had rendered his services to the police, has been released.

Aslam, a brave officer of the police department, was considered a symbol of fear for the terrorists. Announcing war against the terrorists even after an attack on his home testifies his gallantry.

The film will shed light from his early life and career to embracing martyrdom.

The first poster of the movie directed by renowned Azeem Sajjad sees actor Tariq Aslam as the late cop, in his signature white shalwar kameez. The film also stars famous actor Arbaz Khan, Asfar Mani, Shamoon Abbasi, Adnan Shah Tipu and model Zara Abid.

Talking to The Express Tribune, Sajjid shared the movie is a tribute to the martyred SSP.

Khan plays the role of former SSP Rao Anwar while Abbasi reportedly plays the role of an accomplice to Aslam. Chaudhry - The Martyr is an attempt to highlight the efforts of the martyred SSP to keep the city peaceful and unharmed.

“90% shooting of the movie is being done in Karachi while 10% will be done in Abbotabad,” shared the director. The movie in addition to depicting Aslam’s life, also showcases a few important incidents that have occurred in Karachi. The project is expected to attract local as well as international viewers.

Services of Special Service Unit (SSU) of the police have also been sought to train the actors. It is pertinent here to mention that Aslam embraced martyrdom on January 9 2014, after succumbing to a terror attack on Lyari Expressway.

Neha Laaj has been roped in as the producer of Chaudhry - The Martyr. The film is being made under the Laaj Production banner and will hit cinemas next year.
