Many Karachiites suffered power outages last Ramazan, especially during the Sehri and Iftar times
KARACHI: Ramazan is considered as a sacred month for Muslims. Every year, the government announces a policy of ‘no load shedding’ during Ramazan, yet fails to deliver. During election campaigns, political parties claim to eliminate load shedding for good. But the reality gives a lie to these claims. We have been experiencing electricity shortage for more than 30 years. We have not seen much improvement in the power supply situation. Many Karachiites suffered power outages last Ramazan, especially during the Sehri and Iftar times. I urge the government to ensure that this does not occur this year.
