Qureshi was scheduled to visit Tokyo from February 24 to 27, but that had to be postponed due to escalation in tensions with India.
Pakistan has a traditional friendly relationship with Japan. The minister’s visit to Japan is expected to further deepen the friendly relations between the two countries.
According to the sources, Qureshi during his meetings will impress upon the Japanese leadership to make more investment in Pakistan, besides holding talks on regional security situation, Pakistan-India tension and situation in Afghanistan.

Japan is one of Pakistan’s key economic partners and has over the years supported development projects.
After Tokyo visit, the foreign minister will set off for China on April 23 where he will meet key leaders in Beijing during the Belt-and-Road Forum event.
The foreign minister will be joined by Prime Minister Imran Khan on April 25 during the Beijing event.
