Park left to rot

Letter April 11, 2019
There is no greenery left in the park as all the grass and trees have dried because of lack of watering

KARACHI: I would like to draw the attention of the relevant authorities towards the poor condition of Quaid Park in Shah Faisal Town No 3 in Karachi.

The park has fallen into a miserable state due to utter neglect by officials concerned. It has become a dumping ground for garbage and now it is littered with garbage. The boundary wall is in a dilapidated state and the park is also being encroached upon by land grabbers. There is no greenery left in the park as all the grass and trees have dried because of lack of watering. The swings, once a joyful activity for children, are now gone. There is no gate to protect the park against encroachers, nor is there any caretaker. It has become a den for anti-social elements that start assembling there soon after sunset. I hope the authorities concerned will do the needful without any further delay.
