A division bench comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani conducted hearing on petitions of Nawaz Sharif and NAB.
Nawaz's counsel Sher Afgan said that the apex court had granted bail to his client for medical treatment. He prayed the court to grant exemption to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader from appearing due to health issues. The counsel requested the court to adjourn hearing of the case till next date.
Nawaz found guilty in Al-Azizia reference, acquitted in Flagship
Justice Farooq remarked that the petitioner's counsel was supposed to give arguments on Nawaz's main appeal in Al-Azizia Steel Mills reference. Afgan said that he could not get the paper-book of the case and for this reason was not able to submit arguments.
Expressing dissatisfaction, Justice Farooq asked Nawaz's counsel to present logical argument keeping in view that he was standing in the courtroom.
The bench, however, accepted the exemption request of Nawaz Sharif and adjourned hearing on his appeal till April 23.
The bench also adjourned the NAB appeal in Flagship Investment reference till April 29.
