Khasadars end protest following K-P govt's promise to accommodate them in police force

K-P govt assures the perks and privileges of the Khasadar force would equal to the K-P police

LANDI KOTAL: Khasadar tribal paramilitary force’s representatives have put a pause to their protest on the assurance of the government to meet their demand of accommodating them in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa police.

The All Fata Khasadar Force Core Committee ended the hunger strike at Bab-e-Khyber till 10 April following a meeting with Adviser to the Chief Minister on Tribal Affairs Ajmal Wazir. Wazir chaired the meeting which was also attended by Additional Home Secretary Khalid Mehmood, government officials, All Khasadar Force Core Committee representative Syed Jalal, All Party Committee Chairman Jamshed Shinwari and Mazhar Afridi.

It was decided in the meeting that merger of the all Khasadar force personnel into the police would soon take place. The meeting decided that the notification for the merger would be issued within three days.

In the meeting it was also assured that the perks and privileges of the Khasadar force would also equal to the K-P police, while gradual empowering of authority would also take place. After successful meeting with additional secretary home department, Khasadar force representatives ended the hunger strike until April 10, on the condition that their strike would resumed if the notification was not issued in few days.
