ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Tuesday removed six officials in different grades for possessing fake or bogus educational testimonials.

A notification in this regard was issued by the Human Resource Development (HRD)  Directorate of the authority.

The notification said that action against these officials had been taken in light of regulation 8.04(1) (b) (iii) of CDA Employees Service Regulation 1992. The process of degree verification of all gazetted and non-gazetted officers had been pending for a long time.

However, last month CDA Chairman and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Amir Ali Ahmed had directed the authority to resume verification of degrees of all officials and to expedite the entire process.

In this regard, a committee comprising the HRD Director and Coordination Director was formulated to conclude the degree verification cases.

The committee, upon receiving reports from the departments concerned regarding fake degrees by the six officials, took action against them under the rules.

The authority said that these officials had been granted an opportunity for personal hearing which was availed by the officials. However, they failed to prove the authenticity of their documents.
