Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday took to Twitter to share a memorable picture of her parents: former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and Kulsoom Nawaz on the occasion of their 48th wedding anniversary.

In her post on the microblogging website, the former first daughter shared the pain of losing her mother. "Your loss is painful beyond words but your death will not destroy the love that connects us all," she wrote.

"The memories we made together will stay alive in our hearts and minds".

In the same tweet, the daughter of three-time premier greeted their parents, and prayed for her mother saying: "May your body and soul be in peace".

In September last year, the three-time former first lady passed away in London after months-long battle with cancer.

Kulsoom was diagnosed with lymphoma and underwent multiple surgeries in London.

She was born on March 29, 1950 and married to PML-N chief Nawaz on April 2, 1971. The couple had four children — two sons and two daughters.

Kulsoom was the granddaughter of famous wrestler Ghulam Muhammad Bakhsh, commonly known as ‘Gama Pehlwan.’
