An illness we chose to misdiagnose

We must realise extremism comes in all colours and creeds

TORONTO, CANADA: While the global community has successfully scrutinised and diagnosed extremism within the Muslim community, it has missed the same ailment in other communities, despite it posing more danger to our well-being.

As we have lowered our guard, people identifying with the alternative right, right-wing and ultra conservative movements have managed to plan and carry out attacks without being detected. The world’s obsession with Islamic extremism has narrowed down a possible attacker’s traits to particular races and creeds.

This has allowed politicians such as Prime Minister May and President Trump to successfully break apart systems that have been built through the hard work of the common people. This attitude even gave the terrorist in New Zealand the leeway to successfully massacre dozens in broad daylight even though he had sent his manifesto and plan to the government.

We must realise extremism comes in all colours and creeds and it poses imminent danger to our social order by undermining our harmonious coexistence before we all become victims to it.
