ISLAMABAD: Known as the country’s largest book fair, the three-day National Book Fair 2019 will commence from April 19 to April 21 at the Pak-China Friendship Centre in Islamabad.

The President of Pakistan Arif Alvi will inaugurate the fair.

The federal government has directed the National Book Foundation (NBF) under the supervision of the National History and Literary Heritage (NHLH) Division to organise the book fair comparably to the international standard despite its austerity drive.

The NBF Managing Director (MD) Dr Inam ul Haq stated that the modern generation has drifted away from books due to the digital revolution however this fair will aid in bringing them closer to literature activities once again.

He anticipated that the book fair would turn into a festival.

A number of renowned poets and literary figures will participate in the national book fair.
