Rural woes

Land pollution is a serious issue being faced by people in rural areas

TURBAT: Land pollution is a serious issue being faced by people in rural areas. No government organisation or representative has taken notice of this issue, despite the hazard it poses. The untreated waste and garbage from both rural and urban industrial areas is accumulated here, which affects the agricultural land’s fertility, and releases fumes in the air.

Water seepage is also another serious issue in the rural areas of Balochistan. The canals are unlined and water seeps out of them and into the farm land, resulting in the soil becoming saturated. As a result, crops are impacted and the arability of the land significantly decreases.

The government is requested to tackle this problem of landfills and unlined canals to protect our environment, land and crops.
