Longest day of the year today

The Met department said that the duration of the day will be 14 hours, whereas the night will last for 10 hours.

Summer solstice Tuesday will be the longest day of the year, according to the Meteorological Department.

The department said that the duration of the day will be 14 hours, whereas the night will last for 10 hours.

After July 1, daylight hours will continuously reduce. By September 22, daylight and night hours will level-off.

After September 22 onwards, night hours will gradually increase and the days will become shorter.

The solstice, which falls on June 20 or 21 each year, occurs when the Earth's North Pole is tilted the most toward the sun, and the sun is at its highest point.

Solstice comes from the Latin word solstitium, meaning "sol" (the sun) and "stit" (standing). The sun's position at noon actually changes very little in the days surrounding the solstice, hence the concept of the sun "standing still."

Which I believe u have not otherwise you would'nt be using the words like 'Islamic Fascism' and 'sick obsession with religion'. The translation of an ayat says 'O you who believe, enter into Islam completely', which means there is no pick and choose. You have to do all that Islam says. Including 5 times prayers and all fasting. If one does that the people like u will call him 'sick obsession with religion'. Whatever mindless killing is going on has got nothing to do with Islam. Have u forgot the episode of Raymond Davis? God knows how many killers are out and about. Thanx to our senseless rulers. Once CIA created Al Qaeda and now again created TTP. Thier only objective is to create chaos in Pakistan to justify their occupation of our nukes. Mr. Khan dont mix culture with religion. wearing burqa or hijab is more cultural than religious. It is in many Islamic countries. At least I havent heard of any woman getting killed for not wearing burqa or a maulvi killing anybody for not agreeing with him. Looks like u gentlemen have not been to Pakistan lately. It looks very different while sitting abroad.

shahzad khan | 13 years ago | Reply why can't their be light in our minds also? must our minds be filled with the darkness of ignorance,misogyny,homophobia and islamic fascism? if not in my times,at least in my children's time i would hope that we could have a pakistan where you don't get murdered for having a difference of opinion with a maulvi,a pakistan where girls are free to walk about without being forced to be clothed in a black walking prison,a pakistan where our men have gotten rid of their extreme obsession with female virginity. Hum dekhangay gay, laazim hai kay hum bhi dekhangay.
