No illegal U-turn should be allowed, he said chairing a meeting of city planners. Unauthorised U-turns add to the problems of people and road users, he said directing closure of these exits.
He tasked Urban Planning Unit, Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) and National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK) to make a plan to end traffic jams in the city.
Tarakai, during the meeting, directed officials to devised a master plan for Peshawar to sort-out the congestion of traffic in the city.
To resolve the traffic issue and reviving the provincial capital of Khyber Pakhthunkhawa, the minister for local government has directed the institutions concern to work on war footing to provide relief to the residents.
He also directed the heads of these institutions to work for beautification of the city’s entry and exit points, besides reviving the parks, gardens and green spaces of Peshawar so that it can regain its name of the City of Flowers.
