PESHAWAR: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Mushtaq Ghani on Tuesday constituted a parliamentary committee to probe into allegation of mismanagement and embezzlement in the billion tree tsunami project.

Speaker Ghani has formed a 20-member parliamentary committee under K-P Information Minister Shaukat Yousafzai to lay bare the facts about accusations of billions of rupees embezzled in the afforestation drive, an official notification said.

Besides Yousafzai as head, the committee will have K-P Environment Minister Ishtiaq Urmar and Leader of Opposition Akram Durrani on board.

Several objections have been raised over the billion tree tsunami project with the opposition benches demanding formation of a parliamentary committee over the matter.
