First two-day flower show ends in Bhakkar

More than 50 different types of flowers were on display

Countless nature enthusiasts attended the two-day flower show, which concluded on Thursday, at the District Public School Bhakkar.

Reportedly, this was the first time in the district’s history that a flower show of such magnitude was organised. More than 50 different types of flowers from different cities such as Okara, Multan and Pattoki were on display at the flower show. Rescue 1122, the education department, the University of Sargodha Bhakkar campus, the population department and the revenue department had all set up stalls; more than 30 stalls were set up.

Bhakkar Deputy Commissioner Captain Waqas Rasheed said that the main purpose of organising the event was to provide the people with a form of entertainment while also highlighting the responsibility of governmental institutions and civil society in maintaining a clean and green environment.

Assistant Commissioner Asad Chandio said that the administration had set up stalls for the education department and the revenue department. More than 20 different types of flowers were exhibited at the stalls which earned the education department the first position at the flower show.


Rescue 1122 In charge Naveed Iqbal said that flowers were brought from Lahore and Pattoki especially for the show. Another official, Muhammad Bilal, said that Rescue 1122 had also displayed their instruments so that citizens could be educated on how to deal with medical emergencies and fires.

The people at the flower show appreciated the efforts of the district administration and said that because of the event, every person in the district will be educated on keeping the environment clean and green.

Aizaz Raheem, a resident of Darya Khan, said that he had come to the flower show with his family. I had attended a similar event in Islamabad. However, I was able to attend such an event in Bhakkar which makes me really proud, he expressed. He appreciated the efforts of the district administration in organising the flower show.

Bhakkar DPO Shaista Nadeem said that more than 20 police officials, including DSPs and SHOs, were on duty to ensure security at the flower show.
