PESHAWAR: Zamung Kor Model Institute for State Children would be extended to national level after its introduction in the whole of the province, said Chief Minister Mahmood Khan.

Zamung Kor (ZK), which means “our home” in Pushto, is a creative project in which children from among the most challenged segments of society are afforded an opportunity to live in a healthy environment and learn from trained and competent professionals.

CM Mahmood agreed in principle to the suggestion to launch Zamung Kor foundation project across the country, while presiding over a meeting regarding ZK foundation and attending the MoU signing ceremony between ZK and Spark of Hope at Chief Minister Secretariat Peshawar.

MPA from Chitral Wazir Zada, Secretary Social Welfare, ZK Chairman Syed Imtiaz Gillani and representatives of Spark of Hope were also present on the occasion.

The meeting was told that Spark of Hope will support all the expenditures of the students after 8th grade.

Spark of Hope will also give full economic support for sports grounds, computer labs and for teaching of English and Chinese languages.

The chief minister said that the provincial government will also provide full support in this national cause. He assured that he will soon pay a visit to ZK. The chief minister said that the provincial government was taking all possible steps to educate the orphans and helpless children of the province.

“The most agonising dimension of the militancy and the subsequent operation was the orphan and homeless children,” Mahmood said.
