KARACHI: Sindh Assembly lawmaker Abdul Rashid on Wednesday registered a complaint with the police against the organisers of the 2019 Aurat March terming the event ‘vulgarity’.

Earlier this week, Rashid protested in the Sindh Assembly against placards displayed at the march, demanding the provincial government to take action.

Rashid contested the 2018 general elections on a Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) ticket but originally belongs to Jamaat-e-Islami.

On March 8, hundreds of women, transgender and non-binary persons took to the streets across Pakistan to mark the International Women’s Day.

The event was organised by Hum Aurtein. This 2019 Aurat March was the 2nd annual march of its kind.

Organisers of the event included various women and transgender rights activists.
