I have no interest in working in India: Neelam Muneer
'Chuppan Chupai' star believes an actor should work where they get love and respect
Working in the Indian film industry is something that has always been regarded as an achievement. From Fawad Khan in Khoobsurat to Mahira Khan in Raees, Pakistani actors tend to receive much acclaim for their roles in these films.
However, the current political situation has changed that... for the better. Gone are the days when local artists are praised for 'making it to Bollywood'. More and more Pakistani artists are now staying away from showbiz across the border and do not want to associate themselves with Bollywood whatsoever. One such artist is Neelam Muneer.
In a recent interview, the Chuppan Chupai star opened up about working in Indian films. “I have no interest in working in India, I get an immense amount of love from Pakistan." Neelam went on to add that she belongs to this nation and she will keep working here. "I am not going anywhere. An actor should work where they get respect and love.”
It’s hypocrisy if you’re dancing on item numbers but criticising women featured in them: Neelam Muneer
Stars Shaan Shahid, Fahad Mustafa, Sanam Jung and Faysal Qureshi have previously spoken about not wanting to work in India.
