LAHORE: Inspector General of Punjab Police Amjad Javed Saleemi has said steps were being taken, with the help of modern technology, to provide maximum services to citizens. He said issues related to police and SHOs were being monitored through cameras at stations.
The IGP expressed these views while briefing Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar about the law and order situation across the province. The CM was on a visit to the Central Police Office on Tuesday.
He said every member of Punjab Police stood united with the armed forces to volunteer their services for any cooperation, especially keeping in view the current situation of the country. “Under the leadership of the Punjab government, Punjab Police will work day and night to curb crime and improve the law and order situation,” he asserted.
On the occasion, the chief minister launched a new application to provide all services at the police Khidmat Marakiz.
The main objective of this application is to facilitate people and resolve their issues at the doorstep. He said locals would also be updated on the progress of steps taken for the resolution of their problems.
The CM also visited the IGP Complaint Cell and Monitoring Cell. Saleemi briefed Buzdar about the modus operandi of these cells and about their positive progress, whereas the Punjab CM was also told about the revamp of the Punjab Highway Patrolling Police.
The chief minister was also briefed about reforms in Punjab Police and other initiatives taken for training courses in the committee room at Central Police Office.
