PM tells K-P CM to bring tribal districts in national mainstream

PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan to personally monitor the bringing of newly merged districts of erstwhile Fata into the national stream of development.

“The federal government will provide resources both for the short term and long term infrastructure development in the erstwhile Fata and the transfer of resources will start soon”, PM Imran said according to K-P CM Mahmood Khan.

CM Mahmood was talking to the media after a meeting with the premier in Islamabad. According to Mahmood, the prime minister directed him to keep vigil on the accelerated completion of BRT Peshawar for the benefit of the people of Peshawar. PM Imran had already directed for an early revision of inflated gas bills to the consumers and assured to give relief to the people, he added.

Chief Minister Mahmood during the meeting briefed PM Imran about the extension of public sector institutions to the newly merged districts, the overall developmental plan in all sectors including education, health, small dams, agriculture and tourism and other productive sectors in the erstwhile FATA.

Mahmood Khan briefed the Prime Minister of the growing challenges of the province after the merger including the extension of judiciary and policing.
