On February 26, the actor had lauded the Indian armed forces on Twitter saying, "Jai Hind. Indian Armed Forces."

According to TMZ, the petition - filed on Avaaz.org - reads, "War between two nuclear powers can only lead to destruction and death. As the goodwill ambassador of UNICEF, Priyanka Chopra was supposed to stay neutral and peaceful but her tweet in favour of the Indian armed forces after they invaded Pakistani airspace shows otherwise. She doesn't deserve this title anymore."
The petition has already reached a couple thousand signatures but. UNICEF is yet to comment on it. Either way, Chopra has been receiving quite a bit of flak for her post.
“Aren’t you supposed to be a Good Will ambassador for UNICEF?” Pakistani actor Armeena Khan wrote on Twitter. “Screen shot this everyone, and next time she [Priyanka] speaks up for peace and goodwill, let’s remind her of this hypocrisy.”
WHAT?!!! But aren’t you supposed to be a Good Will ambassador for @UNICEF? Screen shot this everyone and next time she speaks up for peace and goodwill. Let’s remind her of this hypocrisy. https://t.co/Jew88bMtYv

Another user echoed Chopra's sentiments. “Are or were you really a UNICEF goodwill ambassador? I really don’t know how an artist can praise military actions and especially while being an ambassador of the UN. I don’t think this world could ever see peace when peacemakers love wars.”

One disgruntled fan, “Priyanka Chopra, what a magnificent disappointment. Hope more blueticked accounts remind her what being a Goodwill Ambassador actually means. Hypocrite.”

"Priyanka Chopra, the goodwill ambassador for UN is advocating Indian atrocities to gain cheap popularity and recognition by her fellow war-minded folks,” commented another.

Violent clashes between Indian and Pakistani forces began over two weeks ago when a suicide car bomb killed 40 Indian CRPF troops in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir.
For 12 years, the Quantico star has worked with UNICEF as a global Goodwill Ambassador, visiting places in need like Zimbabwe and India’s Mumbai slums.
