The airport was shut for last three days due to high alert across the country owing to tension on border with India. On Saturday nine flights took off from the airport, which included eight international flights and a domestic flight to Karachi.
CAA officials said that PIA, Air Blue, Air Arabia, Qatar Airways, Emirates Airlines and Saudi Airlines resumed full operations from Peshawar.
Airspace partially opened for commercial flights
The flights of Air Blue and Emirates Airlines cancelled on Friday took off on Saturday. They said that the CAA took all possible measures to help the stranded passengers.
Meanwhile, relatives of expatriate workers in Saudi Arabia informed that many passengers were still stuck up at various airports of the Kingdom due to the disruption of flights.
The Pakistani passengers have been left in the lurch by the authorities and they have been facing immense hardships in securing accommodations, food and medicines.
Some passengers were faced with expiry of visa and were living illegally in KSA for the last three days, sources said, urging government of Pakistan to help them.
