Has Priyanka Chopra, Meghan Markle’s friendship hit a rough patch?

Reason could be that the Duchess of Sussex missed the Bollywood star’s wedding

Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra is said to be upset with her friend, the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle for skipping her wedding to singer Nick Jonas. Apparently, that’s the reason the Baywatch star bailed on Meghan's star-studded baby shower in New York, as per Page Six.

The two have been friends for quite a while now. Priyanka was a guest at Meghan's wedding to Prince Harry in May last year. Of the wedding, Priyanka had said the day will be remembered as it stood for change and hope.

“Every once in a while there is a moment when time stands still… That happened today… You my friend were the epitome of grace, love and beauty. She had added, “Thank you for being the perfect picture of all things good… Seeing your union and love blessed in front of my eyes made me so happy and tear up! I wish you both love happiness and togetherness always.”

However, the Duchess of Sussex declined to attend Priyanka's wedding to Jonas in December. "Priyanka was crushed," said one source. “That's why, the Quantico star didn’t attend Markle's baby shower last week held at the Mark Hotel.” Serena Williams and Amal Clooney co-hosted the shower, with numerous attendees.

It was reported that Priyanka was "bogged down" with meetings for a book she is writing, but sources believe the real reason is that Meghan hurt her feelings by not coming to her wedding. An insider told Us Weekly that the former Suits star didn't attend Priyanka's wedding because of her pregnancy.

"Their friendship is over unless Meghan apologises," shared another source. "Priyanka is a huge international star with a tremendous social media following. She is probably more famous worldwide than Meghan is. She feels Meghan didn't respect her, and didn't respect their friendship."

A spokesperson for Priyanka declined to comment, but a source close to the former Miss World said: "There are no issues between the two women. They are friends, and anything you're being told otherwise is inaccurate and untrue."

Previously, the Mary Kom actor shared opened up about her plans to start a family with Nick Jonas. The former Miss World was asked what she thinks of Meghan’s pregnancy announcement. “I just have a few of my friends who are having babies right now and I’m like ‘God I need to catch up!'” she said.

Although this probably doesn’t translate to Priyanka having a baby immediately, we won’t be surprised if the couple makes the announcement soon after their wedding.
