RAWALPINDI: Westridge Police on Saturday registered three different criminal cases against the alleged rioting by the residents of Rawalpindi cantonment area against load shedding and water shortage. The police said that cases were registered against unknown persons for rioting, unlawfully assembling and damaging the public and private installations and property. The reason for registration of these cases is that the protestors gathered at three different places, Choor Choke, Naseerabad and Pirwadhai Mor and damaged a combined picket of police and Pakistan army and destroyed police vehicles. The protesters also damaged private vehicles and shops. Westridge police started arresting the protesters late Friday night and had arrested as many as 12 persons for allegedly inciting the demonstration and violence in the cantonment areas.
