Energy Conservation: PESCO asks for consumer cooperation

PESHAWAR: Consumer cooperation and consensus is vital to overcome the current energy crisis, Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) Chief Executive Muhammad Wali said on Saturday. The energy crisis has increased due to the soaring heat wave, but Pesco is taking concerted steps to overcome the energy crisis. He requested the public to consume less electricity, especially during peak hours from 6pm to 11pm. He urged industrial consumers to extend their support by reducing energy consumption by 25 per cent and asked commercial markets to close down by 8pm. The Pesco chief appealed domestic consumers to use energy savers and iron their clothes during daytime, besides keeping AC thermostats at 26 degrees. Tube well operators were requested to operate in accordance with loadshedding schedules to ensure uninterrupted provision of water.
