Armeena slams Priyanka Chopra for 'supporting war' despite being UNICEF ambassador

'Let’s remind her of this hypocrisy'

With rising Indo-Pak tensions, celebrities from both sides of the border came out in support of their respective countries.

While many Indian celebrities lauded the unprovoked violation of the Line of Control (LoC), Pakistani celebs hoped peace will prevail.

However, when UNICEF’s Goodwill Ambassador Priyanka Chopra showed support for the air space violation and advocated war, all hell broke loose.

The actor had previously visited Rohingya and Syrian refugee camps as part of her partnership with UNICEF.

"WHAT?!!! But aren’t you supposed to be a Good Will ambassador for UNICEF?" Armeena Khan wrote on Twitter. "Screen shot this everyone and next time she speaks up for peace and goodwill. Let’s remind her of this hypocrisy."

"Are or were you really UNICEF goodwill ambassador? I really don’t know how an artist can praise military actions and especially while being an ambassador of UN. I don’t think this world could ever see peace when peacemakers love wars," penned another user.

"Priyanka Chopra, what a magnificent disappointment. Hope more blueticked accounts remind her what being a Goodwill Ambassador actually means. Hypocrite," wrote one user.

Priyanka Chopra, the goodwill ambassador for UN is advocating Indian atrocities to gain cheap popularity and recognition by her fellow war minded folks," commented a user.

"And she is UN's goodwill ambassador. May she be ripped off of her ambassadorship," said one.

For 12 years the Quantico star has worked with UNICEF as a global Goodwill Ambassador, visiting places in need like Zimbabwe and India’s Mumbai slums.
