Being merely educated in today’s tough economic times is not sufficient. It is mandatory for our youth to posses some technical, vocational skills in order to secure better employment opportunities and create entrepreneurial possibilities.
Chief Executive Officer of Empowerment thru Creative Integration and Member Board of Trustees of Hashoo Foundation Pakistan, Shahnaz Rahat Kapadia, stated this at a certificate distribution ceremony on Saturday, said a press release.
A total of 500 Pakistani and Afghan trainees of various training programmes were awarded certificates during the ceremony. Kapadia congratulated the trainees and encouraged them to follow the four golden rules: passion for chosen fields, willingness to learn, value time and give back to the communities.
The event was jointly organized by Hashoo Foundation and “Skill Trainings for Urban Afghan Refugees Project” funded by US State Department’s Bureau of Population Refugees and Migration.
The trainees received certificates in various skill areas, including hotel management, information and communication technology, mobile repairing, beautician, plumbing and civil service, building electrician, auto-electrician, auto-mechanic and tailoring.
Appreciation shields and certificates were also distributed among professional trainers of Hashoo Group Hotels, partner hotels including Margalla Courtyard and Regent Hotel, Rawalpindi, for providing voluntary services to mentor and train the youth in employable skills.
