It also condemned threats and war hysteria and frivolous propaganda campaign launched by India against Pakistan following the attack on a convoy of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Pulwama, Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOK).
The resolution, moved by Leader of the Opposition Raja Mohammad Zafarul Haq, urged the government to effectively coordinate with the international community to raise the human rights violations seeking the final settlement of Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the United Nations resolutions.
The resolution deplored the persistent state-sponsored violence orchestrated by the Indian security forces against Kashmiris in the forms of disappearances, stage encounters, rapes, usage of live ammunition and pellet guns and condemned the surge in atrocities perpetrated by India against Kashmiris as well as targeting of Kashmiris students in various parts of India.
Resolution reiterated that no one should underestimate Pakistan's ability and commitment to defend its borders against any external aggression and reaffirmed the observations made by the United Nations Human Rights Office of the High Commissioner's Report of June 14, 2018, on the grave human rights violations inflicted by the Indian security Forces on innocent and defenseless Kashmiris.
The resolution appreciated and supported government's stance of offering assistance to India in investigating the attack and to take action on actionable intelligence or evidence.
The resolution appreciated the Joint Resolution tabled by eleven members of the British Parliament and the role of Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs in this regard, which not only acknowledged the human rights violations carried out in the Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir but also urged the international community to play its due role.
The resolution expressed concern over the reported attending of India in the incoming meeting of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
Meanwhile, Senate Chairman Mohammad Sadiq Sanjrani issued the production order of Senator Kamran Michael to enable him to attend the ongoing session of the Upper House of the Parliament.
Announcing his ruling in the Senate, he said the Leader of the Opposition in Senate Raja Zaraful Haq had submitted the requisition notice, requesting that a Production Order be issued in respect of Senator Kamran Michael to attend proceeding of the House during the current session.
The ruling said, "Senate not only represents the federating units but also provides a platform for giving voice to all segments of the society. The production orders of Senator Kamran Michael are being issued to ensure that minorities living in Punjab are duly represented in the session of the Senate."
