India cannot isolate Pakistan: Qureshi

FM says entire nation is united on issue of Kashmir

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that Indian desire to isolate Pakistan in the world community would never be fulfilled.

Addressing the Kashmir Conference here on Monday, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had given a policy statement in the wake of Pulwama attack that Pakistan is desirous of peace in the region and will not allow its land to be used for any terrorist activity.

FM Qureshi said that the entire nation is united on the issue of Kashmir and the people of Pakistan strongly condemn the Indian atrocities in the occupied valley.



The foreign minister informed the moot that Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad would be visiting Pakistan as a special guest on March 23 while Germany’s Foreign Minister Heiko Maas would also be paying a visit on March 12.

The FM said that he presented the viewpoint of Pakistan in Munich Security Conference.

Qureshi observed that the armed forces of Pakistan had played an effective role in eradicating terrorism in the country and their achievement was being lauded by the world community.

He said that India will fail in accomplishing its nefarious designs just like the past.

The FM noted that the Human Rights Council of the United Nations discussed and highlighted human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.

A video report made by British Parliamentary Group also unveiled the barbaric face of India in the occupied Kashmir.

The House of Commons, which is considered as the mother of parliament in Britain, held a seminar on Kashmir in which all political parties participated and vowed their support for Kashmiris.

Qureshi said that the foreign affairs committee of senate had unanimously approved his stance on Kashmir.

Condemning the Indian media in the wake of Pulwama attack, Qureshi said, “We knew that Indian authorities will accuse Pakistan without any investigation. I was serving as the foreign minister during the Mumbai attacks and was on a visit to India when the incident took place. I know how Indian media swarmed Pakistan with accusations and subjected us to baseless questions”.

Calling the Indian accusations as baseless, the FM noted, “What would Pakistan get if it was involved in Pulwama attack. Indeed, the incident has created bottlenecks for us. Who can oppose terrorism more than us? We have lost over seventy thousand lives to terrorism”.

He maintained that the activities against Indian forces in occupied Kashmir were a reaction to the atrocities to which local Kashmiris were being subjected and Pulwama was one of the forms of retaliation by the aggrieved youth in Kashmir.

Commenting on the economic situation in the country, the FM observed that the current government was trying its best to cut down on trade deficit and added that in order to overcome challenges, peace was indispensable.
