Mohammad Azhar Qureshi, a retired Pakistan Air Force squadron leader, was found dead in his house on Saturday.
The police say that the body was at least three days old and that the cause of death could not be immediately ascertained. It appears that Qureshi, estimated to be older than 65 years, died of natural causes but the police are waiting for the post-mortem report. He lived with his wife in the Sea View Apartments in Clifton in Darakshan police limits. His children are all abroad.
SHO Mohammad Tasawar told The Express Tribune that the victim’s wife found him dead when she returned from a three-day visit from her parents’ house. The officer said that the victim was lying on the bed when police arrived. There was no physical evidence of violence or foul play. The body was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. No case has been registered as yet.
