In a statement on Saturday, Civil Hospital Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr Saleem Abro said: “In last three years dozens of lives were lost due to negligence of health officers who purchased cheap quality oxygen plants for trauma centre, as six out of eight ventilators are non-functional”.
He added that strict action would be taken against responsible contractor and committee who harmed public exchequer.
“The trauma centre has become a drama centre,” he said, adding that the poor patients have been suffering from increasing health related issues.

Abro said: “We have sent a letter to authorities concerned to lodge an FIR against officers involved in installing low quality oxygen plants”.
Sharing details of the action taken against absent staff, he said the health department has been directed to prepare report against four medical officers while two genitors have been sacked from service over absenteeism.
“We have started implementation of new reforms in the department announced by Balochistan chief minister and directed the staff that no negligence would be tolerated,” said Abro.
The MS vowed to impart all facilities to patients in the trauma centre.
