Army thrash Punjab in netball championship

Police into the final after defeating Sindh 4-0.

Pakistan Army overcame Punjab 3-1 in a close match yesterday, while Police defeated Sindh 4-0 to reach the final of the men’s National Netball Championship.


In the beginning, Punjab troubled the defending champions when they took an early lead of 9-8 in the first quarter. However, Army came back strongly to secure the second quarter and levelled the score 16-14 in less than 10 minutes.

The precarious situation continued in the third quarter in which the Army took the lead to 23-20, and later on sealed the victory 28-27 in the last quarter to book a place in the final.

In the second semi-final, Police took an early lead of 9-6 in the first quarter against Sindh, and continued to dominate.

However, Sindh bounced back from their loss in the second quarter but failed to secure it when Police took the lead to 16-15 in the closing three minutes. They went on to grab the third quarter 27-21 and sealed the game 35-27.
