More than 50 militants attacked a police checkpost in Sarband, 10km outside Peshawar late on Friday.

They targeted the Riaz Shaheed Checkpost at around 11:20pm, opening indiscriminate gunfire on personnel as well as firing three rockets at the post.

According to Express Tribune reporter Umar Farooq, the police had driven away the militants after a fiery gun-battle. The militants, as per their usual modus operandi, had escaped into the night.

No casualties were reported according to local sources.

Reinforcement had arrived at the post while the police cordoned off the area.

Sources say the check-post is repeatedly attacked, making it one of the most hostile posts in the area.

Is it Pakistan’s war yet or is this just another opportunity to blame CIA/Mossad/RAW? Please stop Pakistan from being the world’s joke and fight these terrorists to the death. Destroy every last one of them.Recommend

When will these CIA, Zionist, RAW agents learn that they are not fooling anyone! I have seen these CIA/RAW/zionist training camps in the frontier. They promise two weeks, all expenses paid trip to Hawaii to every suicide bomber. RAW promises two hours at all you can eat steaming halal buffet for every Muslim killed. Who can resist these things?Recommend

Gangs operating all over the world, this is not just pakistan. Last year 35000 ppl were killed in Mexico, do we hear any buzz about that in international media? here in trible area, the whole war is about to sell the drugs, it is war against drug trafficers who also fool their international donors to get paid for what they already doing to increase their profit. Rather their killing business is more rewarding now and they switching to this line very rapidly.Recommend

It would appear that Pakistan is either going to have to take on the militants or remove whatever little vestige of Pakistan police/military/govt that is left – this constant nibbling away has to be demoralizing.Recommend

@Thinking: But you forget that many of these criminals are on the payroll of enemy agencies to harm innocent civilians. We all know that RAW is working with their lackeys in Afghanistan to create problems in Pakistan.Recommend

@ Andrea – yes, we ALL know that. It’s PROVEN. I can’t believe why on earth the rest of the world has 0 faith in Pakistan’s “boy who cried wolf” argument.

Everything IS a conspiracy against Pakistan. You MUST be right Andrea.
