FAISALABAD:

A man was shot dead by his nephew as an act of revenge in Faisalabad’s Tandlianwala Tehsil on Monday.

Police told Express News that Nighat married Khan, a resident of Mamu Kanjan, a few years ago. However, Khan’s younger brother Zaman developed relations with her. Later, both decided to marry each other.

For the purpose, the couple ran away from home and tied-the-knot. When Nighat’s brother Shan knew of the matter, he got infuriated and planned to take revenge for the disgrace that his brother-in-law brought to the family.

On the day of the incident, Zaman visited the village to meet someone when Shan came to know of his presence. He immediately went to the spot and opened fire on him. As a result, he was killed on the spot. The police shifted the body to Rural Health Centre for autopsy.

A case had been registered against the suspect while further investigations were under way.

A few days back, a man was shot at and injured by his in-laws over a marriage dispute in Muzaffargarh. Reportedly, 33-year-old Owais, a resident of Kot Adsdu tehsil, had an affair with Qari Abdul Rehman’s daughter. Three years ago, the couple ran away from home and tied the knot against the will of their families.

When Abdul Rehman got to know about the union, he was enraged and decided to murder Owais. However, relatives intervened and settled the matter. But the girl’s father was not happy and was adamant on taking revenge.

On the day of the incident, Abdul Rehman called his son-in-law to his house. When the victim reached the home, the accused and his son Osama opened fire on him. As a result, Owais sustained seven bullet injuries.
