A delegation led by Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani on Monday gifted Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman a gold-plated gun and a portrait of him.

The group met the heir to the Saudi throne at the Prime Minister's House who was on a two-day maiden visit to the country as crown prince.

Sanjranj said Saudi investment in Pakistan shows the trust of the international community in the country which would pave the way for opening new avenues of cooperation and economic partnership for regional development.

The chairman of the upper house of parliament said that "Saudi Arabia Vision 2030 is a roadmap of peace, growth and prosperity".

"The people of Saudi Arabia are fortunate to have the able leadership of the custodian of the two holy mosques and of the energetic crown prince," he added.

He went on to say that the historic visit of the crown prince has ushered in a new chapter in bilateral ties. "Pakistan offers a conducive environment for trade and investment."

The Senate chief said, "Saudi investment is definitely a trust in Pakistan's capabilities and potential for steering the agenda for regional development."

The kingdom, he said, has always supported Pakistan in odd times and both have enjoyed long standing fraternal ties.
