The operation had started on Friday and continued on Saturday. On the first day of the operation, more than 30 kanals of land was also vacated and a further 100 kanals were vacated on the second day.
During the anti-encroachment operation, the area along both sides of the IJ Principal Road, including the service road, from Mandi Morr to Carriage Factory, was targeted and more than 100 kanals of state land was vacated from illegal occupants.
CDA officials claimed that these encroachments were not only hindering pedestrian movement but were also disturbing the smooth flow of traffic on the road, which is one of the main arteries which connects Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
The operation is part of the ongoing anti-encroachment drive by CDA during which anti-encroachment operations were carried out in various areas, including Malpur, Sector E-12, and the Grand Trunk Road.
