Zhalay Sarhadi to make singing debut

Model-cum-actor will render the OST for drama serial ‘Ek Aur Sitam’

KARACHI: Pakistani actor, model and former VJ Zhalay Sarhadi is gearing up to add yet another feather to her hat. The starlet is all set to release her debut song, which will be the original soundtrack (OST) for the drama Ek Aur Sitam Hai, stated a press release.

The upcoming track will mark Sarhadi’s entry into the music industry. She was already under training with Vicky Akber when she was approached by producer Erum Binte Shahid for Ek Aur Sitam. The latter had previously worked with Sarhadi for the drama Dhund in which the beauty played the role of a singer.

Commenting on her debut in the Pakistani music industry, Sarhadi said, “When thinking about my music career, I wanted to enter the industry with the proper training and so I have been training with Vicky Akber for the past three to four months. It was fate and destiny that I was approached by Erum to move forward professionally.”

Asked why she chose Sarhadi for the OST, Shahid revealed, “When I heard her sing in the drama, I knew that I wanted her to sing the original track for my next drama serial.”

Sarhadi will be performing the title track of Ek Aur Sitam, composed by Waqar Ali. Produced by Evolution Media Productions and TNI Productions, the drama Ek Aur Sitam is scheduled to launch on February 20, 2019.

Sarhadi is known for her performances in previous serials such as Uraan, Madiha Maliha, Aks, Digest Writer and Rang Laaga. She also had a starring role in film-maker Umer Adil’s 2017 hit Chalay Thay Saath.
