“I will certainly gain a lot of experience and encouragement from this exhibition,” he said, adding, “I hope that the event is used as a platform by business communities to understand each other’s needs and introduce their products to people in both countries.”
He urged the business community of Pakistan, especially the business community of Sindh, to come forward with their proposals and suggestions to improve trade relations between Pakistan and Indonesia.
President of the chamber of commerce and industry in Larkana, Khair Muhammad Shaikh, said that Larkana is the trade centre of rice since 2.5 million tonnes of rice, worth Rs30 billion, are being exported to different countries of the world.
Indonesia and Pakistan’s friendship is an old one, said Shaikh, citing the Suikarno tower built in Larkana as one of the symbols of the countries’ friendship. The ceremony was attended by scores of members of Larkana’s business community. More than a dozen cultural stalls of different commodities were setup in the exhibition.
