Islamabad gang forcing women into prostitution busted
Gang's leader would first marry young girls, then get them addicted to crystal meth
ISLAMABAD:
A gang that would trap women into prostitution by first getting them addicted to crystal meth was busted in a posh area of the federal capital on Thursday.
Authorities say a female lawyer informed the Shalimar police station that a man was tormenting a woman at the Golden Heights apartments in Sector F-11.
Police reached the scene where the man introduced himself as Sheikh Abdul Rauf, a Karachi resident.
Rauf confessed to physically assaulting his wife, Mary, after having a heated argument with her.
Police took the couple into custody where they both recorded statements.
Mary, 25, said she was not his wife and in fact, Rauf made a bogus marriage certificate.
Drugs, porn movies, prostitution blamed for rise in child abuse cases in Kasur
She also revealed that he made several fake marriage certificates of several women.
Mary said she hailed from Lahore, adding that Rauf is the head of a gang forcing women into prostitution. "Rauf deceives young girls into jobs in various cities, marries them and get them addicted to ice," she said.
Mary added that he would then make them move to Islamabad and force them into becoming sex workers. "After taking the drug, you can't feel anything anymore, all you want is the next fix," Mary said.
Rauf, she said, would then set up meetings with clients for these women.
