A video the 'symbolic protest' staged on Monday against "non-resolution of Karachi's civic issues" has since gone viral.
While a case was registered against the the suspects at the Civil Lines police station, authorities managed to take into custody one of the campaigners allegedly involved in the incident.
According to the FIR, the Fix It founder, along with his friends, reached the CM House's residence, which is located in a red zone, on motorcycles and unloaded dirty water and garbage from a rickshaw using buckets.
The report said that entering and blocking traffic flow in a red zone is a criminal violation under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
Police, SP Saddar Abdullah Ahmed said, received several videos from social media and private television channels after which a case was registered.

Khan, who is now a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MNA from Karachi, started his Fix It campaign in 2016 by uncovering manholes in various part of the city.
