LAHORE:
Metro Cash and Carry Pakistan has announced to open another store in Pakistan shortly and this time in Multan.

"We welcome the decision of Metro Cash and Carry Pakistan to increase its investment in Punjab and every possible support will be provided for the establishment of a new store in Multan," said Provincial Minister for Industries Mian Aslam Iqbal on Monday.

While meeting with Metro Cash and Carry Pakistan Managing Director Marek Minkiewicz, he said steps are being taken rapidly for increasing investment in the province.

The minister said Punjab will become the hub of business and economic activities and all the possible facilities will be provided to investors under one umbrella.

He said it is the need-of-the-hour to accelerate economic activities for creating new job opportunities. The federal government has announced an excellent economic package for increasing economic activities, said Iqbal, adding the Punjab government has given a new industrial policy, which will help revolutionise the industrial sector.

The Multan store will be the company's tenth wholesale retail facility in Pakistan and the first one in South Punjab, a much economically-deprived belt of the province.

Currently the management is operating nine retail stores in Pakistan: Four in Lahore, three in Karachi and one each in Islamabad and Faisalabad.
