The provincial government, acting on the recommendations of the board, shifted Nawaz to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC), however, the former premier insisted on moving back to prison.

In a tweet, daughter of the former prime minister Maryam Nawaz claimed that the PML-N supremo called for help one night while in prison, but no one responded.

She rebuked the authorities over their callousness and political vengeance.

The former first daughter further stated that the incumbent government will be held responsible if anything were to happen to Nawaz.
