Restoration: KESC resumes supply of SITE area

Union workers caused disruption at grid station feeding SITE industrial area, shutting power and damaging machinery.

KARACHI:

The Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) on Thursday restored power generation to the 90-MW SITE power plant and resumed supply to factories in SITE industrial area.

A KESC statement said the plant was forced to shut down by ‘union miscreants’ when they stopped electricity generation machinery and harmed employees.

International investors and lenders of the KESC have been  monitoring disruptive acts at KESC, resulting in harm to the country’s reputation, adds the release.
