He was talking to PTI's Members of National Assembly from Hazara division who called on him in Islamabad on Wednesday.
The members of National Assembly apprised the PM Imran about the problems of their constituencies. The premier also approved roads for tourist spots of Kaghan Valley and Batgram while he also directed to immediately prepare a PC-1 of the project.
The approval was given after the reservations of legislators of Pakistan Tehreek –e-Insaf from Hazara Division.
Imran Khan said that the government would take all possible measures to promote tourism in the country.
The Prime Minister said that tourism restoration in KP brought a reduction in poverty during the last three years and added that the province held a lot of tourism potential in it.
Premier Imran laid stress on further strengthening the local bodies in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa so as to ensure development of all areas.
PM also emphasised on implementing provincial finance award so that the areas lagging behind development could be provided with sufficient resources.
Imran said special emphasis should be given to solid waste management and waste to energy projects in the provinces. “Steps are afoot to exploit the tourism potential of K-P,” he said.
K-P has witnessed a decrease in poverty over the last three years due to promotion of tourism. He said the tourism sector will be further promoted to bring more prosperity in the province.
