RATODERO: Telephone connections at government departments and offices have been out of order since early Thursday morning in Larkana District.

The National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) started providing telephone numbers only to government departments after the privatisation of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited. Office staffers were forced to use their personal cell phones, which slowed down work. An estimated 1,500 government phones were out of order in the district.

NTC officials were not immediately available for comment. Workers complained that this is the third time in the month that the telephone network crashed.
