Nust Talent Expo: Students meet prospective employers

Recruiters share organisational needs with graduates, review resumes and schedule interviews.

The 2011 talent expo at National University of Sciences and Technology (Nust) on Thursday aimed to provide a platform for the industry and corporate sector to meet with engineering and business students at the university.


Nust Business School (NBS) and NUST School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS) organized the expo in collaboration with the Industry Liaison Office.

NBS Principal Dr Ashfaq Hassan, during his speech at the inaugural speech, said the school was ranked in the top 100 Asian universities and 85 per cent of its students were employed. He added the remaining 15 per cent were either pursuing further studies or had opened up their own business ventures.

Representatives of different industries had set up recruitment booths at the expo. The companies were hunting employees for various fields such as finance, human resource management, marketing, IT, communication systems engineering and electrical engineering.

Recruiters shared their organisational needs with the graduates, reviewed resumes and scheduled follow-up interviews.

Khushali Bank President and CEO Muhammad Ghalib Nishtar said the expo provided a unique opportunity to students to meet and learn from leaders in business, industry and education.

Rohde and Schwarz Managing Director Ahmad Jawad, the chief guest at the closing ceremony, praised the talent of Nustians who displayed over a 100 projects. He pledged his support for SEECS and NBS in their efforts to excel in developing the best human resource in engineering and business administration.

Prizes and certificates were distributed among the winners and participants at the end.
